Session B: Addressing Addiction in Pregnant Women

This presentation will discuss the impact of opioid use disorder on pregnant women and their newborns with practical measures and data from a pilot program at Spectrum Health, GREAT MOMs, where pregnant women are cared for by a compassionate team of physician, midwifery, nurse and medical assistance with collaboration from local community mental health and other providers like nurse family partnership. The presentation will explore their model for potential for duplicability by other healthcare systems; including review of a nationally recognized toolkit with modifications specific to the healthcare infrastructure of Michigan.
