ACCREDITATION
The McLaren Health Care, is accredited by the Michigan State Medical Society Committee on CME Accreditation to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

AMA DESIGNATION STATEMENT
The McLaren Health Care designates this educational activity for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

AOA ACCREDITATION

This program is anticipated to offer 6.5 hours of AOA Category 2-A CME credit, pending the approval of the AOA Council on Continuing Medical Education.

The Michigan Board of Nursing defines a contact hour as 50 or 60 minutes of attendance at a continuing education program in compliance with standards set by: Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education or American Osteopathic Association. McLaren Health Care is accredited by the ACCME and AOA.

CONFLICTS of INTEREST
It is the policy of McLaren Health Care and the Department of Continuing Medical Education to ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its individually sponsored or jointly sponsored educational programs.

Content Validation Recommendations involving clinical medicine in a CME activity must be based on evidence that is accepted within the profession of medicine as adequate justification for their indications and contraindications in the care of patients. Scientific research referred to, reported or used in CME in support or justification of a patient care recommendation must conform to the generally accepted standards of experimental design, data collection and analysis.

Safeguards against Commercial Bias The content or format of CME activities and related materials must promote improvements or quality in healthcare and not a specific proprietary business interest of a commercial interest. All financial relationships of individuals involved with the development and implementation of the activity content will be disclosed to learners prior to the activity.

It is the policy of McLaren Greater Lansing and the Department of Continuing Medical Education to ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its individually sponsored or jointly sponsored educational programs. All Program Directors, Moderators, any member of the Research team activity planners and faculty participating in any McLaren Greater Lansing sponsored program are expected to disclose any real or apparent conflict(s) of interest that may have direct bearing on the subject matter of the continuing education program.
